The damping technology of resistance structure is mainly used in some special parts of the structure: supports, joints or accessories, floor space, between adjacent buildings, shear walls, between nodes, main structure, etc. Damping device friction, bending, torsion, shearing, viscous deformation, elastic-plastic deformation, etc. produce hysteretic deformation, and viscoelastic hysteretic deformation absorbs the energy impacting the input structure to reduce the seismic response of the main structure, thereby effectively avoiding the damage of the structure Or collapse, to achieve the purpose of damping control.

On the damping principle of dampers

The shock-absorbing components in the shock-absorbing structure are basically in an elastic state, mainly because the main structure can provide sufficient stiffness or damping, so that the shock-absorbing structure can effectively meet the requirements during normal use.

Under the action of different vibrations, the damping device can take the lead in entering the working state of energy consumption, effectively generating large damping, making the structure input a large amount of energy, the dynamic response of the structure is rapidly attenuated, and it is not very obvious to the main structure. Elastic deformation, which further ensures the safe use of the structure under the action of strong earthquakes or strong winds.

When the solid vibrates, the energy generated by the solid vibration is dissipated as much as possible by the damping layer. This method is called damping damping

Damper characteristics

A. Temperature characteristics

When affected by ambient temperature, the torque produced by the damper changes. This is because changes in temperature cause the viscosity of the damping oil to change, and torque output decreases as temperature increases; it increases as temperature decreases. When the temperature returns to normal, the torque also returns to its original value.

B. Speed characteristics

When the rpm is different, the torque of the damper also changes. In general, when the speed increases, the torque also increases; when the speed decreases, the torque also decreases. In addition, the torque at start is also different from the standard torque.

Suggestions for damper selection

Free and slow falling of cover plate (rotation axis is directly connected with buffer axis or inner hole, as shown below)

The cover plate starts from less than 90° and falls slowly to 0°. The cover plate acts on the rotation axis

The torque is calculated as follows: T=L/2×M×9.8 (N.m)

L: Cover size (M)

M: Weight of cover (Kg)

The above calculation formula can get the maximum torque generated by the lid's own gravity when the lid is about to be closed. Please use this torque to confirm the final decision required torque.  Torque adjustment can be achieved by changing the viscosity of the damping oil.  (Note: If the structure is equipped with gears or levers, the selection method of torque is different according to the gear ratio or lever ratio. Assuming that the gear ratio or lever ratio is 1:2, the torque needed for slow falling of the rotating body under the same conditions should also be 2 times.)
